A few of our lab members were available this year to participate again with UChicago’s Integrative Biology’s committee on Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA) at the Chicago Food Depository.

Austin and Maddie worked with others from our OBA Department to collectively repack 6,720 lbs. of potatoes, which comes out to 5,600 meals, or 151 meals per volunteer.

The OBA Service Event helps our department build community between our units while contributing meaningfully to our local communities. This event is the second time we’ve participated at the Chicago Food Depository, and we look forward to the next round!
